Castello di Modanella

The Castello di Modanella, with its medieval hamlet, dominates the hillside vineyard that encloses the farmhouses, once used for agricultural purposes, now converted to accommodate those who wish to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity that the Sienese hills have to offer. In this place it is easy to forget, in any season, the stress of daily life. Ideal therefore for a summer holiday or a peaceful stay in the spring or autumn season, when the Tuscan countryside is at the height of its splendour. At guests’ disposal are the wood surrounding the property, the two small lakes for sports fishing, the swimming pools and the tennis court.

In the hamlet, next to Modanella Castle, is the 17th-century church of San Giovanni. This beautiful country church can hold 80 people seated and about 20 standing. After the wedding celebration, the bride, groom and guests can enter the castle through the beautiful cypress alley that leads to the garden perhaps set up for aperitifs.

The frescoed halls, located on the ground floor of the castle, are currently home to the restaurant and bar, which are available to both guests and the general public. Four dining rooms: Sala dei Camini, Sala delle Boiserie, Sala della Musica, Sala degli Artisti are available and, in the summertime, our Italian-style garden becomes the natural extension of the indoor halls.

• First floor salon: 120 people
• All rooms on the first floor: 180 people
• During the summer, the large courtyard and garden can be available for a larger number of guests than during the other seasons.
