The Chiesa dei Santi Giusto e Clemente in Monticiano is a church located in Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, in the centre of the village. The structure, of Romanesque origin, is characterised by important architectural details.
After climbing the steps, you find yourself in front of the façade, with its limestone fillet wall. Here opens the portal surmounted by a round arch composed of travertine tiles where a lily motif has been sculpted. The architrave, made of pietra serena, has a very archaic interlaced geometric motif. Materials from other buildings were probably used to build the church in the 14th century, as is also attested by the architrave with figuration on the side door.
The interior of the Church of Saints Justus and Clement has a single hall with a truss roof. It houses a 15th-century crucifix and a 17th-century painting depicting the Immaculate Conception.
